The god who answers by fire- he is God

Glory to God for the subject LOVE under different topics (Let Love lead 1 &2, The Sick needs a doctor and What are you waiting for?) that He has been passing across to us.
I am sorry I will suspend the lecture till next week.
This week is special in Jesus Is Enough Faith Bible Ministry (JEFABIM) as the church celebrates its annual “Jesu To Wo” week (Jesus is enough week) theme; The Lord that Ansewreth By Fire (1Kings 18:24). You are invited to 24 hours with God (December 4 2013) and Jesu To Wo Celebration (December 7 2013).
For the next three days I will share with us words from the theme of the Jesu To wo programme.
In 1 Kings 18:24 Prophet Elijah challenged 450 prophets of Baal to call down fire for sacrifice. There are gods but there is only one almighty God.
I love it, let me chip in this; God is raising Elijahs who will challenge the prophets of Baal of this generation.
      1. Fire can represent the presence of God: Fire signifies his personality, his presence. Hebrew 12:29 tells us that our God is a consuming fire (Deuteronomy 4:24).  Job 18:15 tells us that fire resides in His temple showing his presence.
i.                    People saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on those that receive the holy spirit on the day of Pentecost  (Acts  2:3) confirming the words  of the prophet  Joel 2:30, Acts 2:19. Do not forget the words of John the Baptist that “….after me will come one who is powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.” Matthew 3:11 NIV. This phenomenon shows the presence of the Holy Spirit.
ii.                  It represents his glory or presence: He declares that “I myself will be wall of fire around it (Jerusalem) ….. And I will be its glory within” Zechariah 2:5. Let me tell you that where there is the fire of the Lord burning His glory is within.  He spoke to the Israelites face to face out of fire Deuteronomy 5:4-5, 24.  In Exodus 3:2 the angel of the Lord appeared to Moses in flames of fire, Mount Sinai was covered with smoke because the LORD descended on it in fire Exodus 18:19, to the Israelites the glory of the LORD looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain Exodus 24:17. Fire was in the cloud by night over the tabernacle Exodus 40:38.
iii.                It represents his leadership: The Israelites were led by pillar of fire. Exodus 13:21
2.Fire was used in the Old Testament for sacrifice, Leviticus 9:23-24. The LORD commanded the priest to keep the fire burning on the altar. Leviticus 6:8-13.  Abraham’s burnt offering Genesis 22:6. Read Judges 13:20.
3..Passing through fire means purification, challenges or refining.  (Isaiah 6-6-7, Revelation 3:18, Mark 9:49) He promised to be with us when passing through fire Isaiah 43:2 He was with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego (Daniel 3). If I walk through the valley of death He is with me (Psalm 23:4). He is with us in time of challenges. In this world we will face challenges but be of good cheer He has overcome the world. John 16:33.
4. Judgment: Fire is a good instrument of war (Psalm 97:3). Fire destroy enemies (Revelation 11:5) God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah by raining fire on them Genesis 19:24, Aaron’s Sons were consumed by fire Leviticus 10:1-3.
And the truth is the earth will be destroyed with fire 2 Peter 3:10, Matthew 13:42.
This is not a call of fear but a call to repentance, a call to life a call out of Sodom and Gomorrah give your life to Christ today.
To be continued tomorrow….
I Love you……
Happy New Month……
Have a wonderful Day.....
